Cyndi has been training with us for just over 3 months and is already seeing some great results from our program! She's on the full program we have here at Brennan Combat Sports, which includes a fully personalized combat training program (Boxing & Thai boxing) plus an entire customized personal nutrition & strength training program to complement the combat training sessions. What were you looking to gain or achieve when you first started at Brennan Combat Sports?


"I'm not going to lie, I didn't come in saying I wanted to lose a certain amount of pounds, but I'm already down a full size in my clothes. I feel how my clothes fit me, and more importantly, other people are noticing how I look and how I feel! And I think that it's only going to get better from that, so I'm super pumped about that!"

"I hadn't really worked out in like 10 years. Um, little things here and there, definitely tried quick programs that didn't last at all-- either because it was just something that I didn't really enjoy, or it was so hard and it overworked me and I got so sore so quickly that I felt kind of defeated. I really needed to get healthy. I realized that I was at a point that I wasn't happy about myself. And it wasn't just about my weight, it was really more about how I felt about myself."


"I think the health part of my life was the one piece that was missing, and I really just needed to bite the bullet & get started"


"I just wanted to feel stronger, I wanted to feel better, not get sick all the time-- I wanted to be able to do more stuff. What are some of the benefits from training with Brennan Combat Sports?


My strength! Like that's probably the biggest thing. I'm noticing I can move stuff around by myself or I can pick up things-- I can do more! I'm doing more activities and being able to not be out of shape or out of breath while doing them!"

"What I think is the best part of this so far, is (a) my energy level is out the roof, which I was really being very sluggish and being more lethargic (b) my confidence (c) my spirit (d) my strength! What is it like training with Zack Brennan?



"Zack Brennan is a pretty fantastic trainer. He's, first of all, one the nicest people you'll ever meet. And what I like most is that he really really makes you feel comfortable and supported, and also makes you a part of the process!"

"...I love that he tells me the 'why' behind it, or if I'm having a little challenge around doing a specific move or learning something new, he knows how to give me an example that relates to me, my background, my life, that helps me get it which I think is super smart and also very unique!."


"He's very motivating.... And he's really funny, he's awesome!"



Let's talk about the environment here. What have you noticed about the environment at Brennan Combat Sports?


"As a woman, it's sad that we live in a day in age where we often find each other tearing each other down, and it's so amazing coming into a space where you've got fellow women that again may not be just like you, but there are commonalities amongst you, and that every one honestly ant truly wants you to succeed and be the best you. That is priceless."

"So if I were to describe the environment here at Brennan Combat Sports, it's super positive, super fun, and also it's motivating."


"I've never experienced this before, at least in my adult life, it's almost like if you were ever on a team. You've got a group of people here who are obviously all on a mission who want to improve their health/fitness, be better look better, etc. But obviously coming from different backgrounds and different fitness levels. But we all very much come together and support each other and are very encouraging."

Not a lot of people have experienced or know about our Personal Nutrition & Strength Training program. Can you describe your experience with it?



"It's not something that they're trying to change overnight, similar to the fitness here, it's more about really making small steps, understanding who you are and what you want to do and what it's going to take to get there."


"Typically whenever I see any kind of diet, I'm not necessarily super excited because my personality trait is, if someone tells me not to do something, I automatically want to do the opposite..."


"This has been like the easiest thing because, and it's funny because the first couple months I kept asking like 'oh are there any special foods I should be eating,' and it really started with the super basics. I mean, being aware of how you long you chew and how you chew your food, and how full you get and what you do once you get full-- and being aware of being full... more of the mental aspects of eating and the why behind I eat."


"It's super simple! It's interesting because you'll get a more of a mental-emotional motivation every day that ties in very easily to what the food component of your nutritional program for that day. And it's very very simple. It's things that you can just implement very easily into your life. It's not something that they're trying to change overnight, similar to the fitness here, it's more about really making small steps, understanding who you are and what you want to do and what it's going to take to get there."



We know you love boxing and have tried other places in the past. What do you enjoy about boxing at Brennan Combat Sports?


"It's just it feels very real, I don't feel like I'm coming in and doing a workout. I'm learning something new, I'm learning techniques, I'm learning skills."

"The boxing is what really brought me in here and what I love love love!"

"It's so fun, and your mind is being used so much-- it's really like your heart-rate is keeping up because you're doing so many different things. So many aspects of boxing that's out there, and the sport itself is about being very cardiovascularly in shape so the cardio comes with it.


Overall, what would you say the biggest benefit has been from training at Brennan Combat Sports?

"I think the biggest takeaway that I've had so far, from working out at Brennan Combat Sports, is how I feel about myself. I wasn't super happy, mentally, emotionally, physically. I'm not somebody that mopes around, but deep inside, what I would let other people [see] is how unhappy I was with myself."


"I've been very surprised, happily surprised about how quickly I was able to turn that around.
